Make Every Contact Count (MECC) encourages people to use day-to-day conversations and opportunities to offer health and wellbeing messages, which can support people to make a positive change to their lives.
Description
Designed by the Royal Society for Public Health in collaboration with Health Education England and other stakeholders across the North of England, this mental health promotion training seeks to develop knowledge, skills and confidence to use relevant messages and support in routine work.
Outcomes
- I can identify what is meant by mental health, mental wellbeing, and mental illness
- I can define the MECC approach and explore how this can be applied for mental health
- I have the skills and confidence to engage with service users about their mental health and wellbeing
- I have the skills to support service users to understand distressing feelings and experiences
- I have awareness of local support services and how to effectively signpost service users to the appropriate service
Who this is for
- This training is useful for all frontline workers and volunteers who support people living or working in Salford. It is free if you carry out these roles.
