Children and young people

If you need help right now, and live in Salford, select the "I need urgent help" button

Mental wellbeing plays a large part in children and parents’ lives, and for the people who care and work with them.

We’re working to respond to their needs in all the ways which can affect their lives: preventing difficulties in childhood and giving support to the people who care for children; and also supporting staff and volunteers who work with them through education and community settings.

Good mental wellbeing can help children get fully involved in the education and social opportunities in and outside of school.

Young people and self-harm - information and advice for young people, parents and carers

NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care has produced information for young people, their parents and carers which explain why people may self-harm, how to talk about it and advice on how to help young people manage their emotions before they reach a crisis, while suggesting sources of help.
