Think Family

Safeguarding children and young people is everyone's responsibility. As part of your role working with adults, you may come into contact with children, in the same way that children's practitioners may have contact with adults.  It's important that all professionals are mindful of any issues within the wider family and ensure that action is taken to ensure that support is received and any safeguarding concerns are raised.

Following Safeguarding Adult Review Mathew, we have updated our Think Child - Think Adult - Think Family guidance (PDF) for Children's and Adults' Services in responding to safeguarding concerns.

If you are worried that an adult who may have care and support needs is being abused or neglected, you can report your concerns to Adult Social Care via the online portal or you can contact them on 0161 206 0604 (Emergency Out of Hours Team Telephone 0161 794 8888)

If you have a concern about a child's welfare or safety you should contact the Bridge Partnership which can be contacted by telephone on 0161 603 4500 (Emergency Out of Hours Team Telephone 0161 794 8888).

If an adult or child is in immediate danger of being harmed, or if a child is home alone, the police should be called on 999.
