Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews (DARDRs)
Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews (DARDRs) are multi‑agency reviews (previously known as Domestic Homicide Reviews, DHRs), carried out under Section 9 of the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004, to learn from deaths that appear to be linked to domestic abuse. They help improve how organisations work together to better protect people and prevent future harm. This includes deaths linked to coercive or controlling behaviour, emotional or economic abuse, and suicide where abuse is a contributing factor. These changes align with the broader definition of domestic abuse set out in the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.
DARDRs are not about blame. They focus on learning, recognising good practice, and making improvements to services.
This page shares information about DARDRs commissioned by the Salford Community Safety Partnership (CSP), including published reports and key learning.
Please take a look at the key learning from each review and share it across your teams and networks to support improved practice.
