It will: - Provide assurance, scrutiny and performance management of the delivery of the Health Inequalities Strategy focused on the: - Health inequalities partnerships and sub-groups - Affiliated groups delivering health inequalities strategy priorities - Other funded work programmes - Identify strategies where partners working together will improve health by reducing inequalities more than working in isolation - Ensure action is taken by other thematic partnerships to improve health by reducing inequalities - Report to Salford Strategic Partnership, the PCT board and Cabinet on the progress of the Health Inequalities Strategy and from the Partnership to the sub-groups - Promote an understanding in agencies and communities in Salford of the determinants of health, Salford health assets and local health inequalities - To influence investment for health by ensuring funding streams are targeted at those that most contribution to make in improving health - Making commissioning decisions that pertain to health improvement, driven by health equity audit and our understanding of the local population's needs |
