To ensure that Salford is a world class city by the city playing its part in the knowledge economy, offering a rich mix of employment, business and investment opportunities, where all people have the chance to participate in and benefit from the sustainable development of the city
Priority 1: Encouraging investment in the city
Aim: To increase levels of prosperity and growth in Salford by encouraging economic investment into the city
Through this priority we will ensure that the city has an infrastructure capable of attracting and retaining economic investment, ensure the regeneration of the city and grow the economy through the exploitation of knowledge
Priority 2: Supporting business development
Aim: To build a more enterprising culture
In this priority we will increase business survivial rates, encourage enterprise, develop key employment sectors and improve the performance of established businesses
Priority 3: Enabling local people to achieve their full potential
Aim: To provide local people with skills, ambition and support to play an active role in the growth of their city
In this priority we will increase economic activity rates in those who are furthest from the labour market, engage with local employers to encourage them to recruit and train the local workforce and improve the skills and employability fo residents
