Transforming the third sector together

Do you run a community group or voluntary sector organisation in Salford?

Is it tricky finding the right support for your group?

Do you know what to expect from support organisations across Salford?

Salford Community and Voluntary Services (Salford CVS) is leading on the creation of a 'Transforming Together Development Support Charter'. The charter states that:

As a commitment to you, and to ensure that your organisation receives the right support in the right way, we will:
1. Endeavour to provide flexible and accessible services that meet your needs
2. Listen to you, your needs and your aspirations
3. Ensure that any information and advice provided enables your organisation to
be compliant with Charity and Company Law and effectively manage risk
4. Support you to build your own capacity rather than doing things for you
5. Signpost you to specialist support and information where appropriate
6. Ensure that our staff and volunteers are suitably trained and our information is
up to date

Partners signed up to this include:
• Salford CVS
• Binoh
• The Broughton Trust
• City West Housing Trust
• Interlink Foundation
• Salford Community Leisure
• Salix Homes
• Seedley and Langworthy Trust
• Salford City Council

Community Development Support in Salford

Community Development Support for groups encompasses a range of services determined by the organisation's need:
• to support groups to develop and build their capacity
• to support them to run their organisation effectively and ensure they are compliant with any regulatory bodies
• to support them to be representative of their communities and help make those communities stronger
• to support them to be independent and make a difference.

Community Development Support should recognise and build on the assets that communities already have.

It can be confusing to know who can support your group, and how. More information, including what support each partner can provide and how to access these services, can be found on the Salford CVS website.
