On 9th January 2012, the SSCB launched the new Positive Behaviour Support Policy with an event attended by over 120 parents and practitioners. The key note speaker was Vivien Cooper from the Challenging Behaviour Foundation who emphasised how important it is for children that they and their parents and carers have access to local expertise, information and training within the context of a holistic approach and long term planning. Peer Review and Annual Ofsted Inspection

The City of Salford Children's Services recently commissioned the Local Government Group (LGG) to carry out a Peer Review of safeguarding services. This has provided some critical and constructive feedback to further assist Children's Services in achieving the right outcomes for children in Salford.

The Peer Review also provides helpful comments on the role of the SSCB in monitoring and setting the agenda for change across all agencies in Salford. The letter from the Director of Children's Services and a copy of the Peer Review Report can be accessed below.
