Improving economic prosperity
Salford is a thriving city with many economic successes to its name, but still with significant social and economic issues to overcome. This objective of the Agreement aims to build on our successes, strengthen Salford's role in the region and address major issues such as
- the absence of an enterprise culture,
- low and declining levels of self employment,
- persistently high levels of worklessness coupled with benefit dependency,
- low adult skills and economic inclusion and
- the high proportion of micro businesses
