Partners IN Salford

Gold Standards and Principles

Partners IN Salford have endorsed a number of standards which all partner organisations have agreed to adhere to when they undertake any form of community engagement.

These are:

Access Checklist : This forms part of the Compact on Relations between the Statutory and theThird Sector in Salford (revised 2007) (codes of good practice -volunteering, funding and procurement, community, and social inclusion). and highlights good practice in producing accessible material and information and also ensures that both venues and the delivery of community activies are fully inclusive.  Any activity that is undertaken by the City Council or the Primary Care Trust has to adhere to this.

Gold Standards IN Community Consultation: These MUST be used by all partners as a planning tool before community consultation happens, as a checklist during activities and as an evaluation tool after consultation has taken place.

Gold Standards IN Community Involvement: These standards apply to all community involvement activities undertaken by partner organisations.  They provide a goal for partners to aim towards, particularly where there is activity or proposed change within the city that will have a significant impact upon local communties.

Principles for Effective Partnerships (formerally known as the principles in good governance): These principles build on the Gold Standards and provide the basis for good working practices within and between partner organisations and the community. The principles have only recently been endorsed by the Partnership Board and Gerry Stone is leading on the adoption of the Principles in two of the City's neighbourhood management areas.
