Engage in Salford
Community engagement is taken seriously in Salford. It is fore grounded in Salford's Community Plan and in the Salford Agreement. Engage in Salford is a network for those concerned with the delivery and management of community engagement in Salford. It will build on the good work of the Salford Involvement Network (SIN) and will offer support to make sure that community engagement is delivered in line with the Community Engagement Strategy for Salford, and the community engagement objectives of the Salford Agreement (Salford's LAA).
Engage in Salford will
- support frontline and strategic officers and workers working with and for Salford’s communities and provide opportunities to learn from each other, work in partnership and share good practice in community engagement.
- aid the delivery of the community engagement objectives of the Salford Agreement (Salford’s Local Area Agreement - LAA) and provide guidance on the management, evaluation and measuring impact of community engagement activities.
- help people working in different fields develop a consistent and effective standard of community engagement across Salford.
- raise awareness of community engagement and promote the principles of the citywide Community Engagement Strategy for Salford.
- link workers (who have community engagement as a significant part of their work) with policy makers via the LSP Management and Administration Team which will inform Partners IN Salford's wider remit.
The network’s aims are underpinned by the Community Engagement Strategy for Salford (which incorporates the Gold Standards in Community Involvement, Gold Standards in Community Consultation and Principles in Good Governance).
