Community Engagement IN Salford

Community engagement lies at the heart of the Partners IN Salford's vision. Salford has a longstanding and excellent reputation for community engagement. The quality of this work is recognised nationally and internationally and the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit acknowledges the City as an exemplar in this field.

The Partnership supports community engagement work at a strategic and operational level. Partners IN Salford’s community plan and local area agreement (LAA) both identify community engagement as a freestanding strategic imperative, as well as a cross-cutting theme. We believe that this strategic commitment and ownership of community engagement is unique. The Partnership has also invested resources to support best practice in community engagement across the Partnership. This has paid off. A recent independent evaluation by Keele University concluded that the Partners IN Salford team’s work around community engagement has resulted in building ‘new bridges between communities and public service organisations resulting directly from Salford’s investment in community involvement’.
