Salford Children and Young People's Trust

Read our May 2013 newsletter to get the latest on our directory of emotional health services, our work with Gypsy Roma Traveller families, Anti-Bullying, E-safety, Hate Crime, the 'FireSmart' programme, partnership work to support young people leaving the care system, free childcare for two year olds, Youth Day 2013, and more.

The Salford Children and Young People's Trust is the Local Strategic Partnership 'theme group' for children and young people.

The Trust board includes senior officers from relevant organisations. The board is chaired by the Assistant Mayor, Services for Children and Young People, Councillor John Merry.

The Trust has an action plan for the next three years. This is reviewed every year. A new version will be published in July 2013. To write the plan, we looked at data about our strengths and weaknesses, and consulted with partners and other agencies. We also asked children, young people and families for their views.

The Trust works with Salford Safeguarding Children Board (SSCB). The Board aims to stop children and young people becoming vulnerable in terms of their safety and where they do, works to make sure all partners and agencies work to reduce the risk of vulnerability for a child or young person.
